If you are a truck driver, there are a few things you need to carry in your tool kit when you are on the road. These tools prove to be time- and money-saving as you do not have to wait for a truck shop or rely on emergency maintenance while on the road.

1. Toolbox

Carry a small toolbox that won’t take up too much space but is big enough to accommodate all your tools without cramming it. It’s best to opt for a toolbox with slots and racks for easy organizing and fast use.

Vice grips are a perfect addition to your truck toolbox as they serve multiple functions. You can use it to secure small and large parts in place or to clamp something quickly. It’s recommended to buy two sizes.

10. Ratcheting Screwdriver Set

A screwdriver set is a must when you need to loosen or tighten a screw. They can be a lifesaver and can be used for a variety of needs, including headlight adjustments.

11. Tire Depth Gauge

A flat tire is one disaster that you want to avoid at all costs, especially on the freeway. A tire depth gauge lets you know if any of your truck’s tires need to be pumped before you begin your next drive.

12. Metal Dowel Rod

A metal dowel rod can help release frozen brakes, especially when driving in the winter months. However, if you have no prior knowledge of using it, find proper tutorials as it can damage your brakes when done incorrectly.
